A Very Bed-Stuy Thanksgiving

This year was my second hosting Thanksgiving. With my husband's school schedule and my in-transition job status, we didn't have time to leave town for the holiday (Dan's family celebrated at his sister's house in Massachusetts and my family is of course, in Vermont).

So, Thanksgiving came to us instead. We cobbled together tables and dishes enough to accommodate nine for dinner and feasted on yams, hams, carrots and cabbage. Pearl onions, potatoes and turkey. Wine flowed and later turned to whiskey and Super-8 family films (Dan's latest artistic fascination) projected on the wall.  And a ferocious hangover on Friday morning.

Success! And so much to be Thankful for.
